Edgworth Folk Weekend

There’s a bumper package of events at Edgworth Folk Weekend which runs from Friday October 5th to Sunday October 7th.

Things get underway on Friday with a Ceilidh from 8 pm to 11 pm with caller Peter Bearon and music from The Riot Band.  There will also be a separate sing around music session covering the same period.

Saturday sees an afternoon concert featuring Nine Tenths Below, Chris Rogan, Caffrey/McGurk, Sid Calderbank and Peter and Barbara Snape.  In the evening another concert showcases the talents of Seat of the Pants, Mark Dowding, Saggy Bottom Girls, Martin Ellison & Phil Harty, Bandersnatch and Stanley Accrington.

In addition there is a dizzying array of workshops and sessions on Saturday covering guitar, bodhran, whistle, song,  dulcimer and Applachian dancing amongst others.

Sunday has a survivors session and folk club running from 11 am to 3 pm.

Edgworth folk weekend takes place at the Barlow Institute on Bolton Road, Edgworth, BL7 0AP.  All proceeds will go to the Barlow which needs funds after cutbacks.

Prices are as follows: 

Friday:  Ceilidh, Music Session:  £5
Saturday:  Day (10am – 6 pm) - £8 Evening (6pm – 11pm) – £8
Sunday:  (11 am – 3 pm ) £3

Full Weekend
- £15

Secondary school/College students -  half price.
Accompanied Primary school students – free
