For his latest album, Word of Mouth released in February, Seth Lakeman unearthed hidden histories and unsung everyday heroes to commemorate in song from in and around his native Devon and Cornwall. The new single Last Rider is out now with a video.
Seth says of Last Rider, 'It is a rolling, rhythmic song written about a final journey taking by an old steam engine driver. It features the fabulous banjo playing of Leon Hunt and leads you through the rattling tracks of the railway’.
Seth will be playing at London's Royal Albert Hall on 6th June as part of BBC Radio 2's D-Day 70 Years On Concert where he will perform a song with the BBC Concert Orchestra, and at a headline show at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre on 3rd August. He plays festivals throughout the Summer including Folk by the Oak, Cambridge Folk Festival and Beautiful Days. Seth will be on the road again in October to play a UK tour with his band playing tracks from the new album and live favourites.
