| Two Legends for the Price of One | The word ‘legend’ is overused these days but it seems entirely appropriate in connection with both Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick, so getting to see them together on the same stage is a treat that shouldn’t be missed.
The pair take in Gregson Lane Folk club on Friday evening as part of a country wide autumn tour that also includes a gig at The Brindley in Runcorn on the 23rd of September.
Carthy and Swarbrick first worked together in the mid-sixties on Carthy’s self-titled debut album and produced five other recordings in that decade, including the acclaimed Byker Hill. They’ve been active ever since, collaborating separately with a list of artists and bands that reads like a who’s who of British Folk Music.
Tickets can be obtained from Gregson Lane Folk Club. Trouble At' Mill will be providing support.
