Lakeland Voice. The Summer is Over...
|David Burbidge of Lakeland Voice delivers some news of top class events for the choristers amongst you.|
Summer's over - and all our choirs are beginning again in Kendal, Penrith, Sedbergh....and a new one on Monday evenings in Dentdale: The Cowgill Folk Chorale.
We have a lot of fun with our singing, and there is a great sense of camaraderie - especially this term when our choirs sing in pubs, on trains, in candlelit caves, and over festive meals - if you'd like to join us you can find all the information on the Lakeland Voice website.
We're off to Jura next weekend (Sept.17) for a week of singing - you're welcome to join us. Due to a cancellation we have one place in the house for a male singer sharing a room, and plenty of room for everyone if you'd like to camp.
And later on we have our annual Folk Carols festival in the Yorkshire Dales village of Dent - we've already got a lot of singers coming but at the moment there's plenty of room for more to enjoy our harmony workshops, concerts, pub singing, festive meals, singing walk, ceilidh, and some cracking company.
And the following weekend we're off singing on the Settle Carlisle railway meeting choirs along the way, and singing in pubs, stations and on the train through the wild Pennine hills.
We'll see out the year with a week of singing over the New Year in the wonderfully luxurious Victorian manor house Oakdene near Sedbergh - in the company of a Slovenian choir and visits from and to our local singers.
