 The gigs section here at North West Folk is filling up nicely, and with such a wide variety of events it’s hard to choose where to spend your time, even if it’s not a bad problem to have.
One highlight is the Ewan MacColl memorial concert at Salford University's Peel Hall on Tuesday 27th October, where a stellar cast of Peggy Seeger, Sandra Kerr, John Faulkner, Jez Lowe, Bob Fox, David Ferrard, Bob Blair and Brian Pearson gather to pay tribute to the great folk singer, songwriter, and folklorist, who died twenty years ago this week.
The re-edited version of MacColl’s biography Journeyman, published by Manchester University Press, will be available at the concert for the half price of £10.
