| Songs, Stones and Troubadours | The Christmas festivities are done with and the snow’s cleared (at least for now) so it’s time to start planning the concert going activities for 2010.
Those within reaching distance could do worse than pitch up at Poulton Community Centre where Blackpool based acoustic duo Troubadour are staging their own concert.
Opening proceedings will be York based singer-songwriter Andy Stones on a rare trip to this side of the Pennines. Stones has the beginnings of a fine pedigree having accompanied Phil Beer, John McCusker, and Clive Gregson. He’s definitely one to watch out for.
Troubadour are Andrew Bache and Michael Shanagher. They’ve been performing since 2007 and have a tour with David Knopfler, brother of Mark and founder member of Dire Straits on their CV. Since then, they’ve appeared in Acoustic magazine, guested at Fylde Folk Festival and opened for Mark Chadwick - Lead singer and guitarist with the Levellers.
This year they play their first shows in the USA with two dates in New York City and have been invited to play at Fylde Folk Festival again.
Troubadour will finish up the evening at Poulton. The concert takes place on 30th January with doors opening at 7.30 pm. Tickets priced at £5 can be obtained by calling Andy on 07931 219962.
