The Monday night music session that was held at the Bowling Green pub in Chorlton village (and prior to that at Lloyds Bar) has now moved to the Beech Inn nearby.

There’s also a newish open mic at The Lounge on Wilbrahim Road on Wednesday nights with piano and pa provided, which saves you having to bring your own.

Not forgetting the Dulcimer and Chorlton Folk Club which runs on Thursday night at the Cricket club.

Just When You Thought It Was Safe to Turn the Radio On

Ahead of their gig at Bromley Cross Folk Club on Friday, there’ll be a couple of tracks from Three Sheets to the Wind on James Blatchley’s Chorley FM folk show on Tuesday night at 8pm. Tune to 102.8 fm or listen on the internet.

There’ll also contributions from support act Seat of the Pants, featuring the incomparable Heather Dunn. Don’t say you weren’t warned.

Also on Friday

Trouble At ‘Mill are appearing at the Pickering’s Country Hotel in Garstang. Tickets are £10 which includes traditional Lancashire Hot Pot supper. Details from 01995 600999

Appalachian Magic
