Heather Dunn, one half of Seat of the Pants will be appearing on James Blatchley’s folk programme on Chorley FM on Tuesday along with long suffering musical partner Mike Simmons. It’s tempting to think that young Blatchley doesn’t know what he’s letting himself in for, but amazingly that’s not the case. Suspicions remain that he’s been tampered with.
There’ll be some good music too, on a show that has a nice balance between traditional and contemporary material. The fun starts at 8pm on 102.8 FM and can also be accessed online.
Shepley Spring Festival
This year’s event takes place between 21st and 23rd May, but tickets are going fast for the more popular concerts (Seth Lakeman for example) so the advice is to buy early for these. They’re also looking for stewards. Contact them through their website.
For Folk’s Sake
The Eighth Day Vegetarian Café in Manchester is the venue for this regular serving of folky goodness. Lindsay and the Storm from Scotland, Northern Irish singer songwriter, Stephen MacCartney, poet Claire Jones from Birmingham and Manchester’s own Irish fiddler Emma Sweeney feature this time. Be at your table for 7pm on Thursday 8th April.
Muldoon’s Picnic
This Glasgow based a cappella singing group will be holding a harmony singing workshop at Holy Trinity Church, Horwich near Bolton on Saturday 10th April. It takes place between 3pm and 5pm and there will be a charity concert in the evening starting at 7.30 pm.
