| Four for the Weekend | It's Shepley Spring Festival this weekend, and we've laid on some good weather. A couple of other suggestions below, plus notice of a superior blues experience and the goodbye (for now) gig from Butch Ross.

Acclaimed singer songwriter Anthony John Clarke appears at the Citadel in St Helens on Saturday with his full band. He’ll also be appearing at the Cross Keys in Uppermill next Wednesday too. Reviews, bio, future gigs and sound samples from the link at the bottom.
From Farther Afield
The Lukovnica male voice choir visit Cumbria from May 21st to May 24th. On Friday there will be a concert aboard the Gondola Steam Yacht as it sails for an hour on Coniston Water, followed by a meal and Ceilidh Dance in the Ambleside Parish Centre at 7.30pm.
You can join the choir for a walk with singing in places of beauty throughout the Langdale valleys on Saturday morning and then there’s a concert at the Ambleside Parish Centre Wesley Room, in the evening.
On Sunday there’s a concert at Chapel le Dale with the Slovenian choir and local singers followed by singing in the Hill Inn afterwards.

Saturday 29th May sees the Warrington Rhythm and Blues Festival at the Pyamid and Parr Hall in Warrington. The interesting bit is of course, the acoustic stage. This year it’s being compered by Northwich based lap slide guitarist Tom Doughty, whose latest CD will be reviewed on this site shortly.

Mountain dulcimer player Butch Ross from Chattanooga USA closes his UK tour at the Aspinall Arms in Mitton on the May Bank holiday Sunday. Admission free
