| Alien Rain, the Devil's Highway...and Some Useful Advice | North West Folk ventured into bandit country last week, otherwise known as Darwen, to see folk rockers Merry Hell play a free gig at bar Number 39. The band were amused to be drinking Alien Rain in close proximity to the Devil's Highway. The former is one of the house beers, the other a reference to the A666 which runs about 100 yards from the entrance. However, they missed out the charming notice in the gents, a small facility, with one urinal and one seated fitting.
"Only lock if you need a dump," advised a note fixed to the inside of the door." Class.
